One rainy afternoon Jack’s excitement was high because he planned a surprise for Emily. He invited her to sit in their comfortable living room where he had set up a small table with a gift wrapped in shiny paper.
“Okay, close your eyes,” Jack said,
Emily chuckled. “You’re up to something, aren’t you?
”Just trust me,” Jack replied.
Emily closed her eyes, her curiosity piqued. She heard Jack shuffling around, then a soft rustling as he placed the gift in her lap. “Alright, open them!”

“What’s this?” Emily asked, her eyes spreading.
“Open them,” Jack exclaimed, his voice full of excitement.
Emily picked up and unfolded the first note. “You brighten everyone’s day with your smile. I love the way you laugh.”
Emily looked up at Jack, her eyes bright. “This is beautiful.”
“There’s one for every year we’ve been together,” Jack explained.
“I wanted you to know how much I appreciate all the little things you do.”
Emily read through the notes, each one a reminder of the small but meaningful moments they’d shared. “You remember all these things?”
Jack replied. “How could I forget?” “They are what make our life together so special.”
The notes described her kindness, unwavering support and the little quirks that made her unique. Emily’s emotions overflowed as she read the final note, which simply stated,
“I love you more with each passing day.”
Emily felt tears well up in her eyes. “I’m not sure what to say. “This is the most thoughtful gift.”
Jack reached out to take her hand. “You don’t need to say anything. “I just wanted you to know how much I love you.”Emily hugged him tightly, overwhelmed by love and gratitude.
